Our Footprint

TRECC’s workforce development model includes training across multiple career pathways for at-risk youth, reentry members, and adults seeking careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. TRECC programs have served communities across Chicago, the South Suburbs, Kankakee County, and surrounding regions, including the West Side, South Shore, Chicago Heights, Ford Heights, Kankakee, Peoria, Freeport and Rockford. TRECC maintains a strong record of delivering high-impact services to vulnerable populations. Our program participants in Chicago reside in neighborhoods impacted by high crime and poverty i.e. South Shore, Greater Grand Crossing, Washington Park, Englewood, Auburn Gresham, West Englewood, and North Lawndale.

TRECC’s community focused initiatives have:

  • Provided food assistance, clothing, hygiene, and health related products to more than 800 individuals, including families experiencing crisis;
  • Delivered comprehensive youth and adult programming, mentorship, prevention services, and STEAM-aligned learning opportunities;
  • Served reentry populations through structured support, workforce readiness, and stabilization services;
  • Supported individuals experiencing homelessness with outreach, resource navigation, and emergency assistance;
  • Offered Renewable Energy education and workforce training to expand access to emerging green-energy careers for black & brown Illinois residents;
  • Provided small business mentorship and technical assistance to aspiring entrepreneurs.

TRECC operates seminars that guide residents/entrepreneurs through business formation, licensing, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness. This equips participants with the tools needed to establish and sustain viable enterprises.

TRECC deploys evidence-based practices within each of its programs. This includes services such as behavioral health support, trauma recovery, job training, housing stabilization resources, relocation assistance, financial literacy, and public benefits program navigation.

Through increasing our program participants exposure to STEAM related fields, certification courses, soft skills development, and social & emotional management techniques. These tools lay the foundation for future success in life for TRECC participants.

TRECC’s programming directly advances the TRECC Community Development Foundation’s goals to reduce crime and gun violence, strengthen mental and public health, expand workforce opportunities, improve economic stability, and increase access to broadband & digital resources across diverse communities.
